Overview
The conversion process involves three main areas:
- Control Valve — Replace the valve orifice and remove/reinstall the low-rate bypass tube.
- Burner — Replace the burner orifice and adjust the air shutter.
- Reconnection — Reconnect the burner flex-line and tighten all fittings securely.
Part 1: Control Valve Conversion
Step 1. Locate the Control Valve
Identify the control valve on your EcoSmart Fire burner assembly.
The control valve is the brass and white component connected to the gas line.

Step 2. Remove the Low-Rate Bypass Tube
Remove the low-rate bypass tube from the control valve.
Set it aside — you will re-install it after replacing the orifice.

Step 3. Remove the Valve Orifice
With a flat blade screwdriver, remove the valve orifice from the control valve.

Step 4. Replace with the Natural Gas Orifice
Replace with the natural gas orifice (identified by blue paint).

Step 5. Re-install the Low-Rate Bypass Tube
Re-install the low-rate bypass tube back onto the control valve.

Step 6. Remove the Flare Fitting Adaptor
Remove the flare fitting adaptor from the valve gas input valve.

Part 2: Burner Orifice Conversion
Step 1. Remove the Burner Flex-Line
Using adjustable wrenches, remove the burner flex-line from the burner orifice.

Step 2. Remove the Propane Burner Orifice
Remove the propane burner orifice from the burner assembly.

Step 3. Replace with the Natural Gas Burner Orifice
Replace with the natural gas orifice.

Step 4. Adjust the Air Shutter
Loosen the air shutter with a Phillips head screwdriver and fully close the air shutter.

Part 3: Reconnection
Connect the Burner Flex-Line
Connect the burner flex-line to the natural gas burner orifice and tighten securely.

Part 4: Conversion Complete
Your burner and control valve are now converted to natural gas.

Reminder: Only a licensed plumber may perform a gas installation. Always ensure all connections are tested for leaks before operating the fireplace.
